Since 2012 GATIVIDHI is accredited Training organization of State health Society of Bihar under NRHM program to develop the capacity of ASHAs of Purnea district by providing modular based training on Health Issues. GATIVIDHI has approx 21 core master trainers who have trained over 2700 ASHAs on all prescribed modules. GATIVIDHI has its own managed training center in Purnea to provide residential training to these ASHAs.
From 2008 continuously contributing and supporting Health, Sanitation & Hygiene programs/ campaign like Kosi Flood response program, Gram Gaurave Yatra , Lohiya Swachta Yojana, Nirmal Bharat Abhyan, Mahadalit Sanitation Campaign, water and sanitation campaign & WASH etc supported/led by UNICEF, Water Aid & Biswas, DWSC, World Vision India etc. Under these programs massive training for FLWs & PRI-leaders and awareness activities has been accomplished by GATIVIDHI to cover districts of Bihar.
With the support of UNICEF we use theatre as a tool to strengthen behavior change communication for rural and urban communities, slums dwellers, and migrant workers women, adolescent and youth to reduce vulnerabilities to spread of HIV, improve access to health services and lead action for health equity. Also trained Red Ribbon Club functionaries and volunteers in three districts of Bihar during 2011 to 2012.
To promote grass route entrepreneurship & skill development, trained; over Eight thousand girls & boys; especially marginalized and deprived community on computer, weaving embroidery crafts, soft toys making skills under vocational training program supported by BEPC during 2009-2012 in five districts of Bihar.
Meena is a series of Animation Film on Problem facing girls in South Asia. The Meena Project promotes the rights of all children with a special focus on girls from poor communities in South- Asia who are seen at a great disadvantage.
In Bihar GATIVIDHI has been champion to develop the partnership with UNICEF for developing Meena Muppet shows to reach out remote places; as the Muppet show was not dependent upon videos and electronic devises; it was designed for Muppet show to capture the mass. Through this Muppet shows over fifteen thousand Meena Muppet shows were performed by GATIVIDHI to reach out among village and even media dark places from 1998 to 2009 in Bihar and other states to create awareness on education, health and child right issues. The feature of this Muppet show was to create an opportunity for establishing a social dialogue among the viewers.
A Forum of School girls
With the collaboration of Bihar Education Project Council, (BEPC) Bihar under National Program for Girls Elementary Level (NPEGEL) program GATIVIDHI capacitated over fifty thousand school girls of class 6-8 in 20 districts of Bihar by providing Meena Theater training to establish Meena Munch & creating awareness on education, health and other child right issues.
